About the Role
Optima Plus Recruitment is recruiting five permanent Education Health and Care (EHC) Coordinators on behalf of our client’s SEND & Inclusion Service. This hybrid role requires attendance at the client’s Gun Wharf Office and Medway Hubs three days per week, with flexible remote working for the remainder.

Local authority SEND casework experience is essential
Main Responsibilities
*
Develop and maintain Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) aligned with statutory requirements and individual needs
*
Coordinate multi-agency advice and ensure compliance with 20-week statutory assessment timescales
*
Support families and professionals throughout the EHCP process
*
Maintain accurate records and contribute to service improvement
*
Liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders to promote positive outcomes
Person Specification
Qualifications
*
GCSEs (Grades A–C / 4–9) in Maths and English or equivalent
*
Minimum 2 A-levels or Level 3 academic qualification
*
Professional qualifications in SEND or related field desirable
Knowledge & Experience
*
Understanding of SEND legislation and frameworks including Children and Families Act 2014 and SEND Code of Practice
*
Experience working in SEND or specialist education settings
*
Pastoral care and safeguarding experience
*
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Teams, and SEND data systems
*
Proven ability to manage caseloads and work with multi-agency partners

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Excellent organisational and prioritisation abilities
*
Ability to travel across Medway as required
*
Problem-solving and partnership building skills
