Job Title: Behaviour Support Worker Location: Heanor Salary: £90 – £115 per day (depending on experience) Start Date: Immediate Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time Are you passionate about supporting students with additional behavioural and emotional needs? GSL Education are currently seeking a Behaviour Support Worker to join a well-established SEN school in Heanor. This rewarding role is ideal for individuals who can offer patience, structure, and encouragement to help young people thrive both emotionally and academically. Role Overview As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will assist students with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties to engage positively in education. Your work will play a vital part in helping students overcome barriers, improve their confidence, and reach their full potential in a safe and supportive setting. Role Responsibilities Provide targeted support to pupils with behavioural challenges on a 1:1 or small group basis. Implement tailored strategies and behaviour support plans. Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation. Collaborate with teaching and SEN staff to support pupil progress. Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment. Candidate Requirements Experience working with children or young people with SEN or SEMH needs. A calm and resilient nature with strong communication skills. Ability to build trust and form positive relationships with pupils. A proactive attitude towards learning support and behaviour management. An up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
