Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for a band 3 Cancer Admin Support to work within our Cancer Services Department based at Royal Sussex County Hospital.

Please note: This role does not meet the minimum criteria for visa sponsorship under the current UK immigration rules, which set specific salary and skill thresholds. Main duties of the job

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to provide a comprehensive cancer admin support to the Cancer MDT Co-Ordinators as directed by the Cancer Team Leaders. The successful candidate must be able to work using their own initiative, but also as part of a team.

Good communication, organisational and time-management skills are essential as you will need to liaise directly with cancer support workers, clinical nurse specialist and the wider cancer multi-disciplinary team including community services and other third party stakeholders.

A working knowledge of general office procedures and Microsoft packages is required but full training will be given in the use of oncology and hospital software.

If you are applying using a Graduate visa as your right to work, you must have a minimum of 18 months remaining on your visa at time of application.

1. To ensure the recording of clinical information for all cancer patients is accurately entered.
2. To become familiar with the data stored within medical notes and on the Trust’s computer systems about patients with cancer.
3. Maintain data entry requirements by following data programme techniques and procedures.
4. Maintain operations by following policies and procedures reporting any necessary changes required.
5. To be responsible for collating missing data and confirming information from various sources to ensure complete and accurate data entry.
6. To have a basic understanding and familiarity with medical terminology.
7. To ensure all information follows the Caldicott information governance guidelines.
8. To support the Cancer team in the preparation of regular monitoring and analysis reports for this cohort of cancer patients.

Any other duties appropriate to the post holder’s grade and capabilities relevant to the multi-disciplinary teams as requested by the Patient Pathway Coordinator Team Leaders
