Location
This role will be based near East Kilbride, Scotland.
Position
The role of a Turbine O&M Technician is to support the Turbine O&M Team in the delivery of specific projects. The successful candidate will provide technical assistance to resolve ongoing issues and/or implement improvements.
We are looking for candidates who have a technical background in mechanical and/or electrical systems, preferably in turbine discipline, and with good analytical fault‑finding capabilities on electrical, mechanical & hydraulic systems. Experience on Gamesa G8x wind turbines is highly valued.
Accountabilities
The role suits an experienced Wind Turbine Technician who aspires to further develop their own capabilities in the delivery of high‑quality maintenance activities and to contribute positively to the continued development of the business.
* Be a good communicator both written and verbally; be proficient in customer interface at site level and in pre‑task coordination.
* Prepare risk assessments, method statements and other client‑required procedures and adapt to a high level of health, safety, quality & environmental awareness.
* Adopt a flexible approach to work; travel within the UK & Ireland will be necessary depending on project needs.
* Other areas of knowledge that would be advantageous (but not essential) include, with training provided for the right candidate:
o Working knowledge of gearbox inspections.
o Working knowledge of specialised equipment such as vibration analysis, ultrasound, bore scope and thermal imaging.
o Proficient in analytical fault finding.
o Blade repair experience.
o Assist with the resolution of on‑site technical issues and implement technical improvements.
o Take and lead main component replacements.
o Identify and specify tooling requirements.
o Conduct technical auditing & assessments.
o Prepare reporting templates and other technical documentation.
o Develop and deliver specific in‑house technical training.
o Work in a health & safety‑focused environment.
Knowledge
* Turbine O&M background – Vestas Technologies.
* Team leader.
* Coordination of subcontractors.
* H&S awareness (RA, CoSSH, MS).
* WTSR.
Skills
* Mechanical or electrical fault finding.
* Use of hydraulic tooling.
* Blade repairs.
* Good communication both written & verbal.
* Use of Microsoft Office applications.

Experience
* Wind turbine maintenance.

Qualifications
* Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification (minimum Level 3 NVQ).
