HGV/Skilled Technician – Ground Service Equipment Location: Manchester Airport Reporting to: Workshop Manager Schedule: 6am until 6pm on a 4 on 4 off Rosta pattern Salary: Up to £43,900.00 per annum Are you a skilled technician with a passion for aviation and ground support operations? Swissport is looking for an experienced and dedicated Ground Service Equipment (GSE) Technician to join our high-performing team. You’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of airport vehicles and equipment—ensuring our ground operations run smoothly, safely, and efficiently. We’re looking for a Skilled GSE Technician who thrive on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a diverse fleet of Ground Service Equipment—from aircraft tugs and belt loaders to de-icing rigs and high-tech hydraulic systems. As a GSE Technician, you’ll be responsible for: Servicing and maintaining a wide range of airport ground support vehicles and equipment Performing scheduled inspections, preventive maintenance, and urgent repairs Diagnosing faults across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems Uploading job details and inspection reports into our fleet management system Responding to out-of-hours service requests when required Supporting other Swissport stations with GSE needs when needed What You’ll Bring Experience within HGV, Plant or Hydraulics would be desirable.
