Commercial Finance Manager
* Location: Colchester
* Reports to: Finance Director

* Employment Type: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week 09:00-17:30
We are seeking a Commercial Finance Manager to play a pivotal role in driving financial performance and strategic decision-making within our Facilities Management (FM) function. This role is crucial for partnering with operational and commercial teams to ensure robust financial governance, accurate reporting, value generation, and contract profitability across FM accounts.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Collaborate with MVG leads to drive financial performance and accountability.
* Provide insight and analysis on contract performance, identifying risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
* Support pricing, bid preparation, and renewal processes for new and existing FM contracts.
* Monitor KPIs, SLAs, and commercial terms to ensure contract compliance and optimal delivery.
* Lead budgeting, forecasting, and monthly reporting cycles for FM contracts.
* Ensure accurate and timely preparation of commercial and management accounts.
* Drive cost control and efficiency across the business.
* Develop and maintain robust financial models for long-term contract scenarios and lifecycle costing.
Governance & Risk Management:
* Ensure adherence to financial controls, contract obligations, and corporate policies.
* Support internal and external audit processes.
* Highlight commercial risks and support mitigation strategies.
Stakeholder Engagement:
* Act as a key point of contact between finance and FM delivery teams, client stakeholders, and procurement.
* Communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience.
* Proven experience in a commercial finance role within Facilities Management or outsourced services.
* Strong understanding of FM contract structures, performance metrics, and commercial levers.
* Excellent analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, financial modelling, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
* Ability to influence and build relationships with both finance and operational teams.
Desirable:
* Knowledge of procurement, supply chain, and subcontractor financial management.
* Familiarity with CAFM systems and their financial impact.
