This role will be based at our UK Head Office in Maidenhead (SL1) with some hybrid working. There will be some travel for training and to visit sites and facilities. You will be employed on an initial 24-month training contract, followed by the option for a permanent contract with SUEZ. We will support you to develop your career with the potential to progress through the team and across the SUEZ Group. Additional training support will be provided to gain a recognised professional finance qualification. As you start your career with SUEZ, we will support you with a training programme which will help you to develop your finance, accounting and data knowledge alongside wider skills and behaviours. You will be expected to work towards completion of a recognised professional finance qualification (such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CFA). You must have the right to work in the UK without the need for future sponsorship. What will I be doing? As part of the CDF team you will be working on investment projects by assisting with financial modelling, forecasting and commercial structuring to create viable projects in pursuit of our Triple Bottom Line: People, Planet, Profit. Key areas of focus include: Business Development, including development of new waste processing infrastructure (carbon capture, anaerobic digestion, materials recycling facilities etc.) and bidding for large waste management contracts with local authorities. Contract Variations, making amendments to financial models and complex contracts with local authorities to accommodate changing service requirements, and new environmental legislation. SPV Investment Management, including monitoring and forecasting of financial performance of four large PFI contracts with reporting to senior lenders and shareholders. Engage in bid pricing and investment appraisals. Operate and develop financial models for major investment projects, M&A and disposals. Operational modelling for SPV investments, together with monitoring and reporting of investment performance to the senior lenders and shareholders. Corporate Finance Initiatives, valuation of M&A opportunities and due diligence. Finance Support, including ad-hoc assistance to the financial control, tax and treasury teams as well as international bid teams. Review financial and operational models. Produce reports, presentations to communicate with senior management and the board. Update business plans and forecasts. What are the requirements? We are seeking a candidate with a numerate degree (2.1 or above) in Engineering, Maths, Economics, Statistics or equivalent. Must have graduated within the past 3 years. Strong numerical and analytical skills. A keen attention to detail. Commercial acumen and an understanding of business drivers. Strong communication skills for diverse stakeholders both written and oral communications. Good time management, ability to work under pressure. Proactive, enthusiastic, and eager to learn and develop. Professional and confident with strong communication skills.
