Teaching Assistant and Special Needs Assistant - 30 hours per week (term time only)
The role
We are looking for a Teaching Assistant and Special Needs Assistant to work 30 hours per week (term time only – 38.6 weeks). The pay is £16,995 (pro rata), £24,330 (FTE). You will be assisting in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the Head teacher, SENCO and class teachers, including:
•Assisting in the delivery of educational work programmes by participating in day-to-day learning activities.
•Assisting in the delivery of individual work programmes for pupils with an EHCP (education health care plan) and SEN pupils with IEPs as required.
•Working with small groups of pupils as required.
•Organising and maintaining the learning environment.
•Understanding and applying school policies.
The person
You will have:
•Good general education with English and Maths grade C or above (or equivalent qualification).
•An understanding of children’s development and the physical, emotional, social and educational needs of young children.
•Commitment to the continuing professional development of self.
•Knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
•Ability to build and sustain positive relationships with staff, children and parents.
•Patience and the ability to stay calm under pressure or in frustrating situations.
•Commitment to equal opportunities and the ability to apply this in day to day situations.
