Job Description

Your Responsibilities:

1. Ensure the continuous running of the laboratory to ensure process interruptions are avoided.

2. Ensuring correct record keeping, maintaining a high level of housekeeping and GLP in line with the expectations and requirements of ADM EU Oilseeds.

3. Routine performance checks, maintenance of equipment to ensure it is fit for purpose, investigate and resolve as appropriate.

4. Develop and implement training of all Laboratory Technicians.

5. Ensure work is conducted safely at all times.

6. Carry out lab audits making corrective actions as appropriate.

7. Stock control/Purchase requisites/Stock management of laboratory consumables.

8. Method development and validation.

9. Development of written methods/ review of existing methods and related lab documentation.

10. Coordinate and carry out analysis of all incoming samples in all sections of the laboratory as required including taste testing of finished product, Salmonella and monitoring samples.

11. Provide support to the Laboratory Manager and cover daily tasks in their absence.

12. Provide cover for Lab Tech (day & night shift Monday to Friday) in their absence.

13. Provide cover for Seed Analyst in their absence.

Your Profile:

14. A level chemistry or equivalent.

15. 3 years laboratory experience, ideally in an accredited lab and within the food industry.

16. Method development and validation experience.

17. Ideally trained to carry out taste tests.

18. Lab maintenance knowledge and user experience of GC, ICP and HPLC systems.

The job is a shift (8 hour) day work role based in the laboratory with usual working hours of 6am – 2pm and 2pm – 10pm Monday to Friday. Provision for covering for shifts is required. (Predominately day shifts, although transfer to the full 24/7 12 hour shift system may be required at times, ). This role is also part of a collective agreement.
