Job summary We are seeking to appoint to a joint Consultant Psychiatrist post within Older Adult Mental Health Acute and Inpatient care, based in Scunthorpe and covering the area of North Lincolnshire. The Trust provides a comprehensive adult, child, older adult, learning disability, and community forensic mental health services to Rotherham, Doncaster and North Lincolnshire. It also provides Community Physical Health Services and Substance Misuse Services in Doncaster The team in North Lincolnshire is keen to welcome applications from dynamic psychiatrists with a progressive approach to MDT working, to provide senior medical input to patient care for older adults of working age in our Acute Directorate. Applicants must be on the GMC Specialist Register for Older Adult Psychiatry or a trainee within 6 months of completing their CCT and be approved/eligible for approval for Section 12(2) and Approved Clinician status. They should have evidence of good communication skills and a commitment to multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working. North Lincolnshire has a small but perfectly formed team, and we would love to welcome Psychiatrists dedicated to tackling health inequalities and interested in research relating to older adults mental health. Main duties of the job The post holder will be a leading member of the well-established multi-disciplinary team providing Responsible Clinician input into the Older People's Inpatient Ward (Laurel Ward) and leading the acute MDT to deliver CRHT and Liaison services to people over 65 in North Lincolsnhire. We operate a full MDT approach, with strong clinical leadership, and the post holder will work closely with Consultant and Nurse Consultant colleagues. The Consultant will have a flexible time table designed to respond to the needs of the patients and carers as well as the needs of the team members for support and advice, whilst providing direct delivery of the most complex care. This would be an ideal post for a new Consultant with a supportive peer group on offer and plenty of opportunity to grow and develop a special interests in research in post.
