About Us n-compass operates across the North of England to help people regain control of their lives, providing hope and a sense of purpose through the provision of Carers, Advocacy, Wellbeing, Counselling, and Volunteering Services. We are currently looking for compassionate and motivated volunteers to support adults in the Knowsley / Merseyside area. Purpose of the Role As a volunteer, you’ll provide one-to-one low-level support to adults in the community, helping them develop confidence, improve wellbeing, and access relevant services. You’ll play a key role in empowering individuals to build the skills needed to self-advocate. Key Responsibilities Provide short-term, one-to-one support around health and wellbeing. Signpost clients to appropriate external services and resources. Support clients in person, via telephone, or video call. Maintain accurate and confidential records using our case management system. Make calls, write letters, and send emails on behalf of or with clients. Engage in regular supervision and support with the Volunteer Hub team. Skills & Experience (Desirable, but not essential) A passion for supporting vulnerable adults. Friendly, empathetic, and approachable nature. Ability to maintain clear and appropriate boundaries. Good verbal and written communication skills. Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Training & Support Provided Full induction training. Safeguarding training. Lone Working training and access to the Orbis lone working system. Regular 1:1 mentoring and welfare check-ins. Opportunity to progress to Level 2 Advocacy Training after 6 months of volunteering. Expenses & Equipment Out-of-pocket expenses (e.g. mileage) reimbursed. Mobile phone and laptop provided for use during volunteering activities.
