The Role
Our Senior Relationship Managers are responsible for delivering growth in the provision of Business Banking lending and products, through the development of new and existing customer relationships across your territory and portfolio. This role will be within our Wellbeing Transition Theme which encompasses healthcare (dental practices, care homes and supported living for the elderly, children in care and adults and children with unique needs), education (including kindergarten, independent schools and colleges and Special Needs), arts & culture, religious organisations and recreation including leisure and sustainable/Green accredited tourism.
You’ll have considerable autonomy, hybrid working flexibility, and regular client engagement across the UK, with access to Bristol, London, and Edinburgh offices as required.
Key Responsibilities
* Generating new lending enquiries and presenting credit assessments within the dental practice sector to the Bank’s UK and Global credit committees, in furtherance of the team objectives
* Building and managing a portfolio of dental practice lending customers, typically having between £3m and £10m exposure, both in terms of credit risk and operational performance to actively promote Triodos Bank’s lending and marketing events/ campaigns, raising the bank’s external profile across the region.
* Maintaining and growing an established network of key business introducers within the dental practices sector to ensure that they have a good working knowledge of Triodos Bank and act as introducers of quality business.
* Developing and maintaining ongoing bank policy and strategy regarding your specialist sector. This also involves raising the awareness of the bank in relevant networks and communities and working with international co-workers to form a wider perspective.
* Assisting with pan sector activity where required to reinforce our presence across the UK.
* Preparing and negotiating indicative term sheets and loan terms for new and existing customers and their advisors
* Liaising with the Lending Operations, Legal and Middle Office/Commercial Support teams, solicitors and other key partners to ensure smooth processing of loan formalities and pay‑outs.
* Actively participating in team meetings and communications which will involve travelling within the UK and occasional trips to Europe.
What We Are Looking For
To succeed in this role, you will have significant senior RM/RD experience, professional networks, and a proven track record in commercial lending within the dental practices sector, including handling complex credit proposals and customers. You will manage a dental practices lending portfolio with excellent interpersonal skills, working with clients from diverse backgrounds. As a senior team member, you will mentor colleagues and act as deputy for the Team Manager when needed.
Key Skills and Experience
* Significant experience and proven success in dental practice lending transactions up to £10m
* Relevant networks in the dental sector (brokers, introducers, clients, industry associations)
* Strong business development and relationship management skills, with the ability to implement effective plans for your sector and portfolio
* End-to-end management of lending transactions, including:
* Origination of finance/refinance, acquisitions, and ideally development funding
* Operational and financial risk assessment
* Issuing and negotiating commercial heads of terms
* Preparing and presenting credit proposals to Credit Committees
* Liaising with RICS valuers and interpreting reports
* Outlining scope for facility agreements and documentation to panel solicitors
* Negotiating and concluding transaction documentation
* Final review and approval prior to facility payout, including development drawdowns
