Consultant Psychiatrist – Spring Tide, CYP Eating Disorders

An opportunity to play a key role in a specialist service supporting young people with eating disorders across Sussex.
Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join the Spring Tide Intensive Therapy Programme, based at Aldrington House in Hove.
Spring Tide is a Tier 4 intensive therapy programme supporting young people aged 10–18 with eating disorders, including Anorexia Nervosa and Atypical Anorexia, through evidence-based treatment based on the Maudsley model.
About the role
As Consultant Psychiatrist within the Spring Tide programme, you will provide specialist psychiatric leadership and clinical care for young people and their families.
The service accepts referrals from CAMHS teams and the Sussex Family Eating Disorder Service (SFEDS) and supports young people whose needs require more intensive intervention while remaining within the community pathway.
Responsibilities
* Undertaking specialist psychiatric assessments and treatment planning
* Providing leadership within a multidisciplinary team
* Supporting evidence-based treatment aligned with NICE guidance
* Working collaboratively with families and carers
* Supporting stepped care pathways between community services and Tier 4 inpatient services
* Contributing to service development, governance and quality improvement
* Providing clinical advice to services supporting young people with eating disorders across Sussex
You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team including Consultant Psychiatrists, Systemic Family Therapists, Clinical Psychologists, Nurses, Dietitians, Occupational Therapists and Assistant Psychologists.
You will also be part of a wider Trust Consultant network, offering opportunities for peer support, clinical collaboration and professional development.

This role attracts a £25,000 Recruitment and Retention Package, paid over four years:

About you
You will be a Consultant Psychiatrist in Child and Adolescent Mental Health, with GMC registration and inclusion on the Specialist Register (or within six months).

* Ability to manage complex clinical presentations
* Commitment to research, audit and service improvement
* Experience in teaching and supporting trainee clinicians
