Conveyancing Assistant Job in Selby
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Conveyancing Assistant to join a busy and well-established residential property team at a respected law firm in Selby. This full-time, office-based position is ideal for someone with at least twelve months of practical conveyancing experience, particularly in residential sales and purchases.
This role is client-facing and perfect for a proactive, friendly and professional individual who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment. You will support Solicitors and Fee Earners with a high-volume caseload, handling all aspects of the administrative process from file opening through to completion.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in conveyancing and further develop their legal skills within a supportive and collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Opening new client files and inputting information into the case management system
* Preparing initial correspondence and legal documents including sale contracts
* Managing transactions in line with internal processes and procedures
* Ordering property searches and drafting client reports
* Assisting with the exchange of contracts, completions and post-completion work
* Communicating with clients, estate agents and Solicitors via phone and email
* Handling incoming and outgoing post
* Supporting general office administration including billing, filing and archiving
What We’re Looking For
* Minimum of twelve months experience in a conveyancing assistant or support role
* Previous experience with residential property sales and purchases
* Strong administrative and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
* Proficient IT skills and accurate typing ability
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Able to prioritise and manage a busy workload in a deadline-driven environment
* Friendly, professional and committed to excellent client service
* Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
* Positive, proactive and willing to take initiative
