Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To provide high quality emergency care, being competent in the normal range of emergency medical conditions and injuries.
Direct clinical care will consist of scheduled shifts for the routine assessment and treatment of patients that present to the Emergency Department.
Take part in the middle tier rota, covering 24 hours, seven days a week.
Undertake professional development and participate in audit, ensuring all clinical governance areas are met.

* Good communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
* Ability to prioritise workload & use initiative
* Ability to know own limitations & when to seek advice
* Meet the requirements of the GMC’s Good Medical Practice.
Desirable criteria
* Computer/IT Research skills
* Ultrasound accreditation or equivalent
Experience
Essential criteria
* Completion of at least 4 years full time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis) with at least 2 years in Emergency Medicine.
* Experience in postgraduate and undergraduate teaching.
* Experience of managing the Emergency Department as the Emergency Physician in Charge (EPIC)
Desirable criteria
* Evidence of involvement in audit & research projects
* Experience at Registrar level or equivalent in the UK health system
* Teaching on formal education programme for junior doctors
