Are you an experienced procurement professional looking for a hands‑on role with real impact? We’re seeking a Senior Buyer to lead supplier management and operational purchasing for a growing aerospace programme. This position focuses on strengthening supplier performance, improving delivery reliability, and supporting production across an international supply chain.
What You’ll Do
* Act as the main point of contact for a defined group of UK/European suppliers.
* Manage purchase orders, schedules, and changes driven by MRP requirements.
* Drive supplier performance to ensure stable delivery, quality, and responsiveness.
* Lead corrective actions, recovery plans, and issue resolution with suppliers.
* Conduct regular on‑site supplier visits to build relationships and resolve challenges quickly.
* Support industrialisation activities, including First Article Inspection (FAI) through to serial production.
* Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams across procurement, engineering, quality, and operations.
What You’ll Bring
* 5+ years’ experience in procurement, supply chain, or commercial operations.
* Strong understanding of MRP/ERP‑driven manufacturing environments.
* Demonstrated ability to manage and improve supplier performance.
* Confidence in challenging suppliers and driving corrective action.
* Experience working within a global supply chain and across time zones.
* Ability and willingness to travel frequently to supplier sites.
Nice to Have
* Experience within aerospace, defence, or other regulated manufacturing.
* MCIPS or an equivalent professional qualification.
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
* Strong negotiation and commercial skills.
