The role
Are you a skilled Management Accountant with a passion for finance and a proactive, inquisitive approach to problem-solving? Join our Finance team, where you'll play a pivotal role in covering all aspects of the accounts function, with a main emphasis on assisting the Head of Finance in preparing monthly management accounts and leading Finance Business Partnering with relevant heads and leaders across the business.
What you'll do
The role includes various Management Accounting and Finance tasks and responsibilities, including but not limited to:
1. Helping achieve the business objectives set for the Finance function
2. Carrying out financial cost accounting tasks within the department
3. Analyzing variances and investigating discrepancies to ensure issues are resolved
4. Maintaining and improving the integrity of Finance systems and processes
5. Assisting in the month-end process and preparing accurate monthly management accounts
6. Analyzing overheads, comparing actual expenditure to budgets and forecasts, and liaising with relevant managers/directors
7. Partnering with relevant leaders across the business
8. Involvement in stock control, counts, reviews, and variance analysis
9. Costing new products and updating pricing for existing ones
10. Assisting in preparing budgets and forecasts with the Head of Finance & Finance Director
11. Supporting the preparation of statutory accounts at year-end
12. Providing accurate information for audit and tax compliance
13. Engaging with HMRC and other stakeholders regarding VAT and imports/exports
14. Supporting and covering for finance team members and the wider VEKA team
15. Upholding VEKA Values and maintaining a flexible, enthusiastic approach to company matters
16. Communicating effectively with colleagues at all levels
17. Adhering to Health, Safety, and environmental standards
18. Performing ad-hoc duties as required by the Head of Finance
What you'll need
1. CIMA qualification (or equivalent)
2. Experience in a similar role, preferably within a manufacturing environment
3. Strong business acumen and problem-solving skills
4. Excellent communication and collaboration skills for Finance Business Partnering
5. Proficient IT skills, especially in Excel; SAP experience is desired
