Dorchester Primary School is a large, inclusive school with its own Nursery provision, located in Worcester Park, Surrey. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our pupils, supporting them both in the classroom and during break and lunchtime.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide in-class support to pupils, including those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
2. Help implement and monitor targets for children with additional needs
3. Work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for pupils
4. Assist with the preparation of learning materials and resources
5. Support children's social development during play and lunchtime
Requirements
6. Experience working with children in an educational setting, or a willingness to undertake training
7. A good understanding of supporting pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
9. Ability to work effectively as part of a team
10. Enthusiasm for working in a diverse and inclusive environment
Desirable Qualities
11. Qualifications in child development, education, or a related field
12. Experience supporting pupils with specific learning difficulties or behavioural needs
13. A passion for making a positive impact on the lives of young people
