Key Responsibilities
Engineering and Operational Support
Provide electrical engineering support across multiple sites, resolving faults and offering technical guidance
Deliver PPM, reactive maintenance, and self:performed works to a high standard
Respond to emergencies and participate in the engineering call:out rota
Compliance and Safety
Ensure all work complies with Safe Systems of Work and current health and safety legislation
Supervise contractors, ensuring inductions and site requirements are met
Act as a Safety Champion, proactively identifying and addressing H and S issues
Systems and Maintenance Management
Coordinate planned system shutdowns safely and efficiently
Maintain plant and equipment to ensure operational reliability and cost:effectiveness
Keep accurate records to meet legal, statutory, and client requirements
Monitor stock levels of consumables and critical electrical spares
Resource and Job Management
Plan and manage workloads across multiple buildings, balancing PPM and reactive tasks
Raise material requests, obtain quotations, and manage associated documentation
Manage work orders via CAFM systems, ensuring timely and accurate completion
Personal Development
Maintain up:to:date knowledge of UK electrical standards, including 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
Expand technical knowledge across wider M and E systems
Review O and M manuals and recommend improvements to PPM schedules
Participate in relevant training, including Low Voltage Authorised Person (LV AP) duties
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
Work closely with supervisors, managers, and colleagues to deliver a high:quality service
Liaise with subcontractors for specifications, quotations, and material pricing
Promote teamwork, knowledge sharing, and proactive problem:solving
Person Specification
Qualifications
City and Guilds Parts 1 and 2 or NVQ Level 2:3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
Knowledge of SFG20 Maintenance Specification
Relevant building maintenance and H and S training (e.g., First Aid, MEWP, PASMA, Water Treatment, LMS, BMS)
Membership of a professional engineering body (desirable)
Knowledge and Experience
Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems within building maintenance environments
Experience working within multi:disciplinary technical teams across complex facilities
Familiarity with CAFM systems, asset management tools, and mobile/PDA technology
