About Our Client
Our client is a Global Engineering Business with multiple Sottish sites. You will lead the finance function form their Stirling office which will offer hybrid working. Some travel may be required.
Job Description
The successful candidate will likely have the following responsibilities:
3. Supervision of Accounting Operations
4. Supervise accounting for the Scotland entities, ensuring compliance with local standards (UK GAAP) and international (IFRS) standards.
5. Support the Finance Dirctor by managing country accounting teams, ensuring best of practices and proper task allocation.
6. Monitor compliance with internal accounting procedures tailored to each country's specific needs.
7. Production and Review of Financial Statements
8. Produce balance sheets, income statements, notes, and other financial reports for Scotland entities.
9. Ensure monthly, quarterly, and annual closings are completed on time and with reliable data.
10. Manage internal and external audits, prepare required files, and respond to auditors' questions.
11. Ensure the monthly cut-off, determine the cut-off entries (Invoices to be issued / Prepaid Expenses / Accruals / etc.).
12. Validate basic accounting entries.
13. Optimisation and Digitisation of Accounting Processes
14. Propose solutions to optimise accounting processes.
15. Promote digitisation and automation of accounting tasks to increase efficiency and improve data quality.
16. Participate in the implementation of the new accounting tools and software (Business Central).
17. Tax Obligations
18. Ensure tax declarations and payments (VAT, corporate tax, social contributions, etc.) are completed.
19. Account Analysis
20. Reconcile intercompany accounts and analyse discrepancies to correct potential anomalies.
21. Collaborate with the Management Control department to monitor the budget.
22. Perform account analysis and monitor cost accounting, specifically on SG&A expenses.
23. Team Supervision and Harmonisation of Practices
24. Act as the Finance Director backup in team management, ensuring training and development.
25. Ensure harmonisation of accounting practices across countries, considering local specificity's and international requirements.
26. Foster smooth communication between accounting teams and other departments to improve coordination.
