Support Pupils in a Leading Specialist School in Walsall
We’re partnering with a well-established specialist school in Walsall that supports around 400 students aged 2–19 with a broad range of complex needs, including moderate learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning disabilities, autism, physical challenges, and communication difficulties.
As part of a multi-academy trust, the school provides a personalised curriculum and dedicated sixth form tailored to each pupil’s developmental stage, helping them engage and thrive in their learning.
The Role
* Deliver 1:1 and small-group support based on EHCPs and individual learning plans
* Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and care staff to provide structured, pathway-based learning
* Assist with communication, sensory and mobility support, personal care, and use of specialist equipment
* Maintain a safe, calm environment and support pupils with behaviour and emotional regulation
What We’re Looking For
* Experience supporting children or young people in specialist or high-needs settings
* A calm, professional approach with strong organisational skills and commitment to routine
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work effectively across disciplines
* GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths, with a strong commitment to safeguarding and inclusion
Desirable Skills & Experience
* Familiarity with PECS, Makaton, sensory strategies, or similar methods
* Training in moving and handling, Team Teach, or behaviour management protocols
* Experience supporting pupils with medical or physical needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
