Belmont is a care home which provides care and support for 6 residents or in the annex supporting one gentleman on a 2:1 basis. They support people with Learning disability and Autism. They support the residents to be as independent as possible and learn everyday living skills, different activities, achieve goals and aspirations and gain confidence in themselves. They support people with various communication needs. Activities the service users enjoy include walks in the woods a few miles from the home, day centres, ten pin bowling and a trampoline centre. We also encourage in house activities like arts and crafts, gardening, cooking, music, and decorating. Belmont offers specialist support in Learning disabilities, mental health and autism. Staff have a variety of experiences and receive up to date training every year. Training in autism, diabetes, epilepsy, person centred thinking, safeguarding, medication, are to name a few staff are all encouraged to complete diplomas in health and social care at different levels from level 2 to 5. Belmont has recently designed two training flats on the second floor of Belmont where service users can come and learn skills to be able to move on with life and become more independent.
