Legal Secretary Department: Family Law Working hours: 9-5.00pm and all office based Our client is seeking an experience legal secretary/assistant to support their busy legal team in Walsall. You will provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to family law fee earners, ensuring the smooth and efficient handling of client matters including divorce, child arrangements, and financial settlements. Your role: Typing of legal documents and correspondence Preparing court bundles and legal documentation Managing solicitors' diaries, appointments, and deadlines Liaising with clients, courts, barristers, and external agencies Opening, maintaining, and closing client files (paper and digital) Handling confidential and sensitive information with discretion Filing, scanning, and general document management Assisting with billing, invoicing, and legal aid paperwork (if applicable) Ensuring compliance with legal procedures and firm policiesThe person: Previous experience as a legal secretary (preferably in family law) Fast and accurate typing skills Strong organisational and time management skills Excellent written and verbal communication Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines High level of discretion and professionalism Professional and client-focused approach Strong attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Empathetic and sensitive when dealing with clients in difficult situations Flexible and adaptable attitude
