Thales UK offers a Senior Systems Engineer role within OME. The role can be based in Reading or Glasgow and may require travel to other Thales sites, customer sites, or test facilities. This position involves autonomous participation in systems engineering design activities across projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Define Systems Requirements for the product.
* Produce design documentation capturing systems engineering design and defining internal and external interfaces.
* Specify functional definition of system behaviour.
* Develop test procedures to support verification.
* Conduct integration and verification testing; gather evidence that system requirements are met.
* Peer review technical artefacts.
* Share knowledge with the wider engineering team.
Required Qualifications
* Experience as part of a multidisciplinary design team.
* Defining systems interfaces, boundaries, and external factors impacting design.
* Requirements engineering (elicitation, decomposition, analysis).
* Analysis of operational concepts of a system.
Desired Additional Experience
* Decomposition of system design to subsystem level; knowledge of systems modelling techniques.
* Analyzing potential solutions against design brief needs.
* Use of design analysis techniques (trade‑off analysis, calculations, modelling, simulation).
The role reports to the Discipline Manager for Systems Engineering.
Security Clearance
SC Clearance required. Existing clearance is advantageous; if not held, the successful candidate must obtain, achieve and maintain SC Clearance. Candidates needing clearance are encouraged to consult the UKSV website for guidance. Eligibility to obtain SC typically requires residing in the UK for the last 5 years (or a minimum of 3 years in some cases).
