About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Bar Manager to oversee daily operations within our hospitality establishment in Peterborough. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team, ensuring exceptional service standards, and maintaining food safety protocols. Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and coordinate the activities of bar and service staff to ensure smooth operational flow
* Oversee drink preparation, presentation, and service to uphold quality standards
* Manage team schedules, delegate tasks, and provide training to optimise performance
* Ensure compliance with licensing laws, food safety regulations, and high standards of hygiene
* Assist in inventory management, including ordering supplies, stock control, and managing wastage
* Serve guests in a professional manner, addressing special requests or concerns promptly
* Monitor service delivery to ensure customer satisfaction and handle feedback effectively
* Support the implementation of new drink menus and promotional activities
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation in all bar and service areas
* Handle cash reconciliation, daily takings, and basic financial reporting
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven supervising experience within a restaurant, hotel, or similar hospitality environment
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
* Extensive knowledge of drink preparation, cocktails, beers, wines, spirits, and food safety standards
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure
* Experience in food production, bar operations, and hospitality service roles (e.g., serving or barista work)
* Good communication skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to hygiene and alcohol licensing
* Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
* Personal Licence holder (preferred but not essential)
