About us

Like the modern Britain we serve, we're evolving. Investing billions in our people, data and tech to transform the way we meet the ever-changing needs of our 26 million customers. We're growing with purpose. Join us on our journey and you will too…

We're looking for a Financial Crime Technical Manager to join our diverse and dynamic group.

In this role, you'll be at the forefront of innovation and regulatory compliance-helping to craft our approach, exploring new territory, and directly influencing our success. You'll help to innovate and apply your expertise, and your ideas will directly impact our success!

What you'll do

Champion the integration of new technologies into our Transaction, Name and PEP screening processes.

Help lead projects from concept through to successful delivery.

Navigate the complex landscape of UK, EU, and international sanctions compliance.

Lead and maintain high standards of data integrity and accuracy.

Minimise risk and ensure regulatory requirements are adhered to.

Take on challenging problems and uncover business opportunities through analytical thinking.

Translate complex technical findings into clear, actionable insights for a broad audience.

Ensure Landscape and procedures are up to date with current legislations.

Liaise with a wide range of stakeholders including Group Internal Audit and Regulatory bodies on Sanctions and PEP's related matters.

Lead, support and maintain a high performing team.

Maintain existing screening technologies.

What You'll Need:

Experience in the Sanctions Screening space particularly in Transactions, Name and PEP's screening.

Experience in Risk Management/minimising risk and Change.

Strong analytical skills to evaluate filter performance using historical data and recommend improvements.

Familiarity with industry-standard screening tools (e.g., FircoSoft) and filtering technologies.

Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.

Knowledge of Economic Crime Prevention processes.

Experience in supporting and maintaining a high performing team.

Experience with automation and data visualisation tools like Power BI/Tableau to support strategic decision-making would be beneficial but is not crucial.

About working for us

Our focus is to ensure we're inclusive every day, building an organisation that reflects modern society and celebrates diversity in all its forms. We want our people to feel that they belong and can be their best, regardless of background, identity, or culture.

We were one of the first major organisations to set goals on diversity in senior roles, create a menopause health package, and a dedicated Working with Cancer initiative. And it is why we especially welcome applications from under-represented groups.

We're disability confident. So, if you would like reasonable adjustments to be made to our recruitment processes, just let us know.

We also offer a wide-ranging benefits package, which includes:

A generous pension contribution of up to 15%

An annual performance-related bonus

Share schemes including free shares.

Benefits you can adapt to your lifestyle, such as discounted shopping.

28 days' holiday, with bank holidays on top

A range of wellbeing initiatives and generous parental leave policies
