You’ll play a key role in protecting our people, our technology and our sites by identifying risks, supporting decision‐making and ensuring we follow strong governance across physical, personnel and cyber security.Your work directly supports well‐informed, balanced and practical security decisions across the organisation.# **What you’ll be doing**### **Managing and Delivering Security Risk Assessments**We need you to:* Conduct and support security risk assessments and basic threat assessments.* Review and analyse risk information using recognised approaches.* Help risk or service owners understand risks and make balanced decisions.* Act as the guardian of our central risk register, ensuring accuracy, quality and timely updates.* Track and follow up actions to prevent risks becoming aged or overlooked.* Chase and coordinate actions across engineering and other teams.* Support assurance activities, including validating the effectiveness of mitigation measures.* Interpret security needs, requirements and risk appetite statements.* Use risk insights to support site‐specific design changes.* Apply assurance approaches proportionately across the system lifecycle.* Communicate risk information clearly across technical and non‐technical audiences.* Confidently chase updates and act as a central point of contact.# **What you’ll bring**### **Core Skills & Strengths*** Strong organisational and tracking skills — you enjoy keeping complex information accurate and up to date.* Confident stakeholder management and the ability to follow up proactively.* An analytical mindset for interpreting risk information and prioritising action.* A proactive, “guardian” mentality that ensures nothing slips through the cracks.* Comfort working in evolving processes as the SMR programme industrialises.### **Experience & Knowledge**You’ll ideally bring experience in:* Risk management or working with risk registers.* Applying security principles, protective security or assurance methods.* Understanding threat information and using it to inform decisions.* Knowledge and experience in both Physical and Cyber Security* Understanding of Design Risk### **Qualifications*** Industry‐recognised Risk Management qualification (ISO/NIST) — or equivalent practical experience.If you meet around **75%** of the criteria, we still want to hear from you.**Working style**The team is hybrid, relaxed and highly collaborative, with occasional travel to Derby for team activities or in‐person sessions.
