We are looking for highly motivated creative practitioners/lecturers with their own industry/creative relationships who understand the needs future of the creative industries and are excited to work with our students to develop their understanding of areas of creative practice.
OVERVIEW OF THE JOB
Please note that at this time we are only recruiting one flute tutor and one composition tutor for 1:1 lessons
To deliver outstanding teaching, learning and assessment across the Pathway within the Extended Diploma, Professional Diploma and other courses as required in order to maximise learner progress and outcomes in meeting both student and college’s goals. Teaching hours will focus on individual lessons for music students. There may also be students wishing to learn as beginners.

This role will be based at CSVPA Dance Studios in Cambridge.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB

Teaching & Learning
Ensure music course delivery adheres to structure and requirements of UAL qualifications
Deliver outstanding teaching, learning and assessment through planning and preparation of lessons, which enthuses and inspires students to reach their potential and promote enjoyment of learning
Apply a variety of effective learning styles, approaches and methods, having regard to the individual student’s learning needs and according to the course type as well as differentiating between learners’ needs
Support and encourage students’ progression into university or college programs
Investigate/research your subject area to ensure students are receiving up-to-date information, trends, methods of working, materials and processes
Supervise students’ attendance and behaviour and follow up as appropriate, in accordance with the Behaviour and Attendance policies
Feed back on materials, courses and lessons to academic and other managers/colleagues as required
Encourage students to participate in extracurricular activities
Deal with student issues/emergencies as and when they arise
Contribute towards making a positive and productive physical environment that enhances learning
Assessment and Quality
Write reports, when appropriate and directed by the course outline, on students with clear formative comments and targets as to how to improve work, by deadlines given, and provide regular estimated grades and feedback as required. Maintain effective records of lessons, grades awarded.
Administer and mark placement tasks and carry out a range of formative and summative assessments as appropriate
Assess, track and provide relevant and timely feedback on achievement, progress and developmental needs to students, and other managers/colleagues, including student records
Participate in the College’s procedures for student interviews when required
Contribute towards the optimal utilization of learning environments, e.g. Canvas to motivate and inform students
Attend all meetings when required, and attend/deliver INSET sessions as directedProcess / Procedures (including safeguarding)
Ensure a safe and secure environment for staff and students when they are working within the College’s by consistent implementation of Health & Safety guidelines and risk assessments
In line with standards and procedures defined within the PT handbooks, ensure duties as a Personal Tutor (PT) are discharged effectively.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Teaching experience 16+
Teaching Qualification desirable but not required
Leadership skills
Ability to plan teaching, learning and assessment thoroughly, including the ability to write, review, update and work to highly effective schemes of learning
A logical, structured and organised outlook on life with ability to prioritise own time
High levels of energy, an even temper and a sense of humour
Ability to relate to young people
