IP Renewals Client Care Specialist
SunIP is a global leader in patent translation, foreign filing, and annuity solutions, helping intellectual property professionals protect innovation worldwide. We are looking for a motivated, people-first IP Renewals Client Care Specialist to join our IP Renewals department — a collaborative team dedicated to delivering exceptional service to a sophisticated global clientele.
In this role, you will be the reassuring first point of contact and steady hand that clients rely on. Whether you are resolving an account query or proactively spotting an issue before it becomes a problem, you will bring a calm, can-do approach that is not just answering questions but finding the right answers, taking ownership, and seeing things through.
No background in IP is required. We will teach you everything you need to know about the industry. What we cannot teach is good judgment, genuine curiosity, and an instinct for solving problems — and that is exactly what we are looking for.
Main Responsibilities:
* Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of patent and trademark renewal accounts, proactively managing relationships to drive retention and satisfaction.
* Facilitate smooth onboarding for new clients, ensuring a seamless transition onto our platform and services.
* Listen carefully to understand client needs and use sound judgment to find the right solutions, escalating when appropriate.
* Educate clients on our full suite of renewal solutions, translating complex processes into clear, confident guidance. Either through to one-to-one support, tailored system training sessions or supporting client focused training materials.
* Provide responsive after-sales support, resolving issues quickly and maintaining long-term client trust.
* Partner with senior Client Care team members and Business Development Managers to develop client plans, deliver presentations, and execute customer success strategies.
* Collaborate closely with internal project management teams to ensure consistent, high-quality client support.
* Maintain accurate account and contact records within our CRM platform.
* Stay curious — keep learning about our products, the IP industry, and how we can better serve our clients.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
* Bachelor's degree (required)
* 1+ years of client-facing experience in any professional setting (internships count).
* A natural problem-solver who uses common sense, attention to detail and professional judgment to navigate ambiguous situations.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills — you can explain things clearly and confidently, whether in email, one-to-one call, or group meeting.
* Highly organized, self-sufficient, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a remote environment.
* Genuinely curious and eager to learn a specialized industry from the ground up.
Desired but not Required:
* Exposure to patent filing, trademark renewals, or IP translation services — but truly not required.
* Familiarity with CRM platforms such as Salesforce or HubSpot.
