Locum Civil & Criminal Lawyer – 3 months + – Predominantly Remote Working – Full Time – Home Counties
Position: Locum Civil & Criminal Litigation Lawyer
Organisation: Home Counties based Local Authority
Duration: 3 months + with the possibility of extension thereafter
Working Pattern: Full time
Working Arrangement: Predominantly remote working, Court attendance when required
Hourly Rate: Up to £60 per hour Umbrella
The ideal candidate will have at experience in handling Prosecutions & Licensing matters and can demonstrate prior experience working on behalf of Local Authorities.
Duties may include:
1. Manage a caseload and provide legal advice on a wide mix of Civil & Criminal Litigation to include Prosecutions, Taxi/Premises Licensing, Housing, Homelessness & Employment
2. Conduct Case Preparation and case management of allocated cases for Court purposes and liaise with the relevant Clients from various departments within the Local Authority
3. Act as advocate on behalf of Local Authority at Magistrates Court, whilst also reviewing work to ensure work is completed to a high standard
4. Covering a mix of Housing Law focusing on Housing (possessions and injunctions), ASB, homelessness and Disrepair claims, unauthorised encampments – Magistrates Court procedure
