The Role
We are seeking a motivated Assistant Ecologist to join our team.
* Salary:
£24,000 - £27,000 (depending on experience)
* Employment Type:
Full or Part-time
Your Core Responsibilities Will Include:
* Assisting with
Preliminary Ecological Appraisals
and other types of ecological surveys.
* Supporting senior ecologists on a wide range of
protected species surveys
.
* Helping with
data collection
, entry, and analysis.
* Learning to produce
high-quality ecological reports
and maps.
* Using
QGIS
to assist with mapping and data visualization.
* Assisting with
Biodiversity Net Gain assessments
.
* Maintaining equipment and following safety protocols.
Qualifications and Skills
* A degree or postgraduate qualification in ecology, environmental science, or a related field.
* A strong passion for fieldwork, ecology, and conservation.
* Excellent communication skills and a willingness to collaborate.
* A proactive approach to learning and a desire for professional growth.
* A
full UK driving license
is required due to the need for travel to various sites.
* Flexibility to work varying hours, as some surveys may occur in the evenings or early mornings.
