Overview
The Carnarvon Arms is a Pub, Restaurant & Hotel located next to Highclere Castle. We are looking for a Head Chef to lead creative menu development using fresh, seasonal ingredients and to put their own stamp on the food vision of the business.
We offer live-in accommodation potential (to be discussed) and a supportive environment with opportunities for growth within a Premium Pubs group.
Responsibilities
* Write and evolve menus that reflect the food vision of the business, using fresh, seasonal ingredients
* Lead kitchen operations, cost and produce high-quality, seasonal dishes for various revenue streams
* Inspire and manage the kitchen team, lead by example, and develop staff through training
* Oversee menu costing, GP and labour controls, and maintain high standards of health and safety
* Collaborate with front-of-house and kitchen teams to drive sales and growth
* Manage the kitchen staff rota, training, and compliance with health and safety requirements

What we look for in a Head Chef
This role requires someone who can inspire a team, lead by example, and develop, cost and deliver fresh seasonal menus for various revenue streams. You should be able to manage multiple responsibilities in a hospitality environment.
* Experience championing excellent service through quality food as a Head Chef or Sous Chef
* Passion for leading and developing a team
* Hands-on team player with excellent communication skills
* Ability to manage kitchen staff rota, training and health and safety
* Creativity to design and deliver new dishes for menus and daily specials
* Strong planning and organizational skills to maintain GP and labour controls
* Pro-active approach to driving sales and growth through engagement with kitchen and front-of-house teams
