About Ryefields
Ryefields is a brand-new, purpose-built special school in Derby, dedicated to providing exceptional education for children and young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Our mission is to create a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment where every child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. This is an exciting chance to join our founding team and play a pivotal role in shaping the ethos and success of Ryefields from day one.
The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled teacher who is passionate about working with children with ASC and SEMH. In this role, you will:
1. Deliver a tailored curriculum designed to meet the unique needs of each student.
2. Use creative and engaging teaching methods to inspire learning and development.
3. Work collaboratively with a team of dedicated staff, including therapists and support workers, to provide holistic care and education.
4. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages confidence and independence.
5. Monitor, assess, and celebrate student progress, adapting strategies to ensure every child succeeds.
Skills and Qualifications
What We’re Looking For
6. A qualified teacher with QTS/QTLS .
7. Experience or a strong interest in working with children with ASC and SEMH needs.
8. A flexible and creative approach to teaching and learning.
9. Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
10. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
