An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and motivated pharmacist to lead our pharmacy service to the National Spinal Injuries Centre. You will play a pivotal role in leading, managing and further developing the pharmacy service provided to the NSIC and the team currently involved providing this service. This is an excellent opportunity to develop expertise an a specialist role where there are complex patients with unique needs.
Main duties of the job
Responsible for leading, managing, delivering, planning and developing the clinical pharmacy services to the National Spinal Injuries Centre.
1. To provide a consistently high pharmaceutical service to patients in line with the Trust corporate objectives and the NHS plan.
2. To provide leadership and training of the team that delivers this service to ensure service provided is to high standards.
3. To manage medicine related risks and ensure Trust Medicines policy and medicines legislation is complied with within the service
4. To be a senior member of the Pharmacy department.
5. To appraise, develop and performance manage junior members of the pharmacy team.
6. To support the Trust financial objectives by providing financial analysis and advice in relation to medicines use
7. To develop guidelines and treatment protocols as required

Person specification
Education
Essential criteria
18. Registered Pharmacist: GPhC
19. Masters degree in Pharmacy (MPharm)
Desirable criteria
20. Demonstrate professional networking (e.g. member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society or UKCPA)
21. Post-graduate diploma in clinical pharmacy or recognised equivalent
22. Independent Prescribing qualification
23. Education / Management qualification
EXPERIENCE eg Breadth of occupational experience
Essential criteria
24. Broad clinical experience at Post Registration Pharmacist level
25. Delivery of pharmacy services to a range of specialities
26. Evidence of significant relevant Continuing Professional Development
27. Experience of project management
28. Experience of conducting service audits and the use of performance indicators
29. Experience of teaching and tutoring
30. Experience of training other pharmacy staff
31. Experience of managing staff
Desirable criteria
32. Evidence of practicing as an independent prescribe
33. Experience in foundation year / postgraduation pharmacist training

36. Clear, concise verbal, written communication to ensure liaison with multidisciplinary team, patients and carers and to ensure records are kept accurately and in a legible manner.
