Commercial Manager – Facilities Management – Stevenage
Up to £80,000 DOE (inclusive of car allowance)
This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of the largest Facilities Management companies in the UK at one of their prestigious clients’ sites based in Stevenage.

Role Responsibilities:
1. Manage the contract variations process and scope changes, ensuring adherence to NEC contract, logging documents, and conducting risk reduction meetings.
2. Support the New Works team on all commercial aspects.
3. Contribute to future contract tenders, growth proposals, and transformation projects.
4. Collaborate with procurement, finance, core operational delivery, new works, and fire teams to develop detailed financial forecasting and spend profiles, managing resulting actions.
5. Direct, monitor, and control the UK commercial framework consistently across the BU regarding customer contracts, risk, and legal requirements.
6. Enhance the profitability and competitive performance of the business through selling and negotiating skills and maximizing opportunities.
7. Drive the pursuit of reduced risk (manage commercial risk register) and optimized profit on a contract/contract basis and of additional valuable opportunities.
8. Build business relationships with operations, estimators, and finance functions within BU.
9. Collect and track benchmarking data and KPIs for BU.
10. Conduct monthly business analysis of the BU services contracts transactions reporting and define plans to manage spend, ensuring all billing is accurate.
The successful candidate:
1. Strong understanding of financial matters and business modeling, i.e., VIR, IRR, PIA, NPV.
2. High level of understanding of the key financial drivers of a Services business.
3. Experience of value-led sales pricing, general cost estimating, and contract value optimization.
4. Proficiency in preparing and negotiating legal and commercial aspects of sizable services contracts.
5. Thorough understanding of the principles of risk management.
6. Strong analysis and report writing skills demonstrating attention to detail.
7. Good computer skills, particularly Excel. Exposure to Service Management Information systems would be advantageous.
8. Ability to contribute to the development of long-term business plans and commercial strategy.
9. Experience in negotiating complex deals with third-party suppliers.
10. Qualified to HNC/degree level in engineering, commercial management, business administration, or facilities management.
11. Ability to effectively manage and maintain a portfolio of contracts with a value in excess of £25m.
