About Hinkley Point C
The first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years; Hinkley Point C in Somerset will provide low‑carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, create thousands of jobs and bring lasting benefits to the UK economy. Marking a significant milestone in the revitalisation of our nuclear power industry, Hinkley Point C will make a major contribution to the UK’s move to reduce carbon emissions. The electricity generated by its two EPR reactors will offset 9 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions a year.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Support the Site Wide Workshops Operations project manager in the day‑to‑day engineering and construction planning to understand the installation of supports across the HPC site on behalf of the MEH Alliance.
* Delegation of responsibilities to Construction Engineers/Works Coordination Leads. Lead, manage and motivate the team through implementation of best practice.
* Produce the construction packs for the cutting, welding and coating of the supports.
* Work with pre‑construction to maintain six months rolling stock of supports and clamps based on programme.
* Return any supports to the warehouse that cannot be installed within the agreed KPIs.
* Support the Workshops Operations Manager with all reasonable requests.
* Provide and demonstrate a positive HSE leadership, building a strong and compliant HS&E culture throughout the whole construction life cycle of the Project.
* Ensure compliance with all nuclear safety and site licence requirements.
Who We’re Looking For
* Degree in a relevant discipline or HNC in a relevant discipline or relevant experience, with eligibility for a competency based interview – ideally electrical bias.
* Able to obtain a security clearance.
