Job description:
Highways Operative – Exeter
Our clients are looking for Highways Operatives to join their hardworking dedicated team in Exeter.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Work as part of a team undertaking Highways repairs, ranging from Patching, Resurfacing, Potholes, Drainage, Footways and General Highway Maintenance.
2. Use technology (tablets/apps) to input safety data and maintenance records.
3. Drive/operate plant and equipment where trained, necessary for the for the day to day tasks set.
4. Take responsibility for vehicles/plant/materials in your charge.
5. Where appropriate provide direction/supervision of the work to less experienced operatives.
Essential Skills:
6. Driving License ideally clean some points accepted
7. A commitment to Health and Safety.
8. Good communication skills and basic literacy and numeracy.
9. Ability to undertake a high level of manual work and work outdoors in all weathers.
10. CSCS Card.
Desirable Skills:
11. Highways experience.
12. HGV licence.
13. New Roads and Street Works (NRSWA) not essential
14. Operative Accreditation Lantra 12D not essential
Rate of Pay:
15. £ – £ per hour depending upon experience.
16. Overtime at 150% after 40 hours
17. These will be PAYE positions so you will benefit from.
18. Accrued Holiday Pay from day one.
19. Pension contributions (after a qualifying period).
20. Weekly Pay.
21. No Umbrella payments or fees.
22. Only Tax and National Insurance deductions and this will be shown on your payslip.
