About Us
Surrey Wildlife Trust’s vision is to create a county that is full of abundant and diverse wildlife; helping us adapt to a changing climate and supporting the health and wellbeing of all who live here.
Our Team Wilder project aims to reach a wide and diverse audience, empowering people to create a natural environment that is more connected and more joined-up across Surrey.
About the Role
If you enjoy variety, then this is a job for you! We work in schools and on our reserves delivering sessions and training. We support teachers to develop their confidence and skills in outdoor learning and we motivate and assist the school community to improve the biodiversity of their school grounds and community spaces.
We need knowledgeable and enthusiastic individuals who, from the outset, will be working independently on projects in schools but will also work as part of a team to regularly deliver:
* Family events
* Formal education sessions
* Informal community education
Post 1: Youth Action Committee Coordinator
You will coordinate our youth action committee and help engage young people across Surrey.
Requires a good understanding of online engagement and social media, as well as experience in outdoor learning.
Post 2: Practical Habitat Management & Engagement
We are looking for experience in aspects of practical habitat management alongside engagement work.
About You
To succeed in either role, you will need:
* Experience working outdoors with young people (in both formal and informal settings)
* Experience in outdoor learning
* A full, clean driving licence (travel required between our education centre at Nower Wood, Leatherhead, and project schools)
* Willingness to work occasional weekends and evenings, especially when engaging with families
Our Commitment to Inclusion
We are committed to having an inclusive and diverse workplace and encourage applications from backgrounds underrepresented in our sector, including:
* People from minority ethnic backgrounds
