We're excited to offer an opportunity for a motivated and collaborative Project Manager to join our SSEN Transmission Capital Delivery team, where you'll play a key role in delivering major infrastructure projects that support Scotland's Net Zero journey. You'll lead projects through the construction phase, working on large-scale capital developments ranging from £20 million to over £500 million in value. This role forms part of our Pathway to 2030 portfolio, which includes four landmark schemes — this opportunity focuses on the following: Beauly to Spittal - North Highlands - SSEN Transmission (ssen-transmission.co.uk) You will - Support and guide the SSE team, working closely with a range of external partners to deliver high-quality outcomes and ensure we fulfil our commitments. - Oversee the planning and delivery of large capital projects, with a strong focus on safety, timely progress, budget responsibility, and high standards. - Champion a culture of safety by embedding our Safety Management Systems, sharing best practices, and upholding SSE's Large Capital Projects (LCP) Governance processes. - Act as a role model for SSE's safety culture and core values, fostering a respectful, inclusive, and values-driven project environment. You have - A solid background in project management ideally within engineering or construction, along with a working knowledge of health and safety standards, including CDM regulations. - Strong communication and people leadership skills, with a collaborative approach and a track record of successfully guiding large, complex projects to completion. - Contractual management experience (NEC3 experience is preferable), with the ability to forecast and control costs as well as develop and manage integrated project programmes. - Due to the location of our projects, there is a need to have a driving licence and, for delivery focussed roles, a willingness to travel to site and be on site for 2-3 days a week during construction. - Ideally, experience in leading large electricity transmission projects. However, if you've successfully managed major projects in other sectors and are keen to learn, we value transferable skills and fresh perspectives.
