JDR Recruitment are recruiting for an Automation Engineer on behalf of our clientLocation: Barton-upon-Humber (with travel to manufacturing sites)Salary: £45,000-£52,000 per annumHours of Work: Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pmContract Type: PermanentThe Role:We are currently recruiting for an Automation Engineer to join a growing engineering and projects team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the design, development, and implementation of automated manufacturing solutions across multiple production facilities.As an Automation Engineer, you will support a variety of capital projects, including robotics, cobots, new production lines, factory expansions, and automation improvement initiatives. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting automation and electrical control systems that enhance manufacturing efficiency and reliability.The role will involve programming and optimising PLCs, HMIs, drives, and industrial networks, as well as supporting the integration of robotic and automated systems.
You will assist with project delivery from initial concept through to commissioning, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to specification.You will also be responsible for producing and reviewing electrical drawings and technical documentation, troubleshooting automation and electrical issues, and ensuring systems comply with machinery safety and electrical standards. Working closely with engineering and production teams, you will contribute to continuous improvement activities across the manufacturing operation.Experience / Skills Required:HNC, HND, or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related disciplinePrevious experience within an automation, controls, or manufacturing engineering environmentExperience programming PLCs such as Siemens, Schneider, Allen-Bradley, or similarGood understanding of automation systems, industrial controls, and control architectureAbility to read, interpret, and produce electrical drawingsExperience supporting automation or engineering projects from concept through to completionKnowledge of machinery safety standards and safety systemsStrong fault-finding and problem-solving abilitiesHands-on approach with excellent technical skillsExperience with robots or cobots is advantageousExperience within a high-volume manufacturing environment is desirableKnowledge of SCADA, MES, or vision systems would be beneficialA minimum of 3-5 years of experience is required for this roleTO APPLY - Please click APPLY NOW!We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds.
