Job description:
We have an opportunity for a talented IT Event Support Engineer to join the TWG Cadillac Formula 1 Team as part of the Event IT Team. In this role, you will be a member of a team of engineers providing support to our engineering teams in the factory, in the race operations centre, and our travelling end-users, employees, and guests. You will be responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of the IT solutions that run an IT event.
What you will be doing:
* Setup, support, operate, and maintain the IT infrastructure, bespoke applications, and supporting solutions used during an IT event.
* Travel with the Team to Grand Prix, Test Events, Film Days, providing end-user IT support to the team and its guests.
* Act as a liaison between internal departments and external service providers to ensure the delivery of IT services.
* Troubleshoot and resolve IT issues at events, including implementing requested new or enhanced services.
* Collaborate with other IT and business teams for complex issues requiring higher-level support.
* Assist in creating Policies and Procedures to ensure smooth and consistent support operations.
Requirements:
* Relevant experience in a similar role within a travelling motorsport environment.
* Experience supporting and implementing LAN, WAN, and SD-WAN.
* Proficiency in supporting and implementing Windows OS (server & client), virtualization, HCI technologies, and Linux systems.
* Experience supporting IT hardware, from end-user devices to servers.
* Strong analytical skills with proven fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
* A flexible, can-do attitude and calmness under pressure.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Ability to prioritize workloads in a high-pressure environment.
* Ability to work at height.
* Relevant certifications: CCNA, MCP, MCSE, VCP, or equivalent.
This role may involve extensive travel and irregular hours to match the F1 event calendar. Additional security checks, including a background check covering the past five years, may be required.
