Overview & Responsibilities

Duties will consist of providing assessments and management of new referrals and follow-up for patients under CMHT. There will be a contribution to be made in terms of leadership and support of development of the service. The community Consultant based at Hanson Corner Dr Deji Odelola will be responsible medical officer for patients. Cross cover for periods of leave/study will be picked up by the other 2 Resident doctors attached to the team. Alongside the specialty doctor there is one senior resident doctor (ST4-6) and one Core resident doctor.


Team Structure & Workload

The team workload is 139 and the average number of referrals per month is 5-7. Specialty doctor will be expected to build up their own case load and will be supported to work independently with access to supervision and regular input by Multidisciplinary team. The job is an excellent opportunity to develop competency in working with patients with complex needs managed under CTO provision.

Pre-Employment Checks

To confirm your suitability for the role, we will carry out pre-employment checks in line with NHS Employment Check Standards. These include:

* Identity verification
* Right to work check
* Disclosure and barring service (DBS)/Criminal record check (dependent on role)
* Professional registration and/or qualification check
* Occupational health assessment
* Employment history and reference validation

All applicants external to Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust will be required to provide their HMRC employment history to cover the most recent three years employment. This information will be used to validate employment history and references.

If you require sponsorship, we will assess your eligibility based on current government guidance. If the role is not eligible and you cannot demonstrate your right to work, your conditional offer may be withdrawn.


Employment & Onboarding

Once Checks Are Complete – The Recruitment Team will coordinate with you and the hiring manager to confirm a start date. You'll be booked onto a Trust Welcome Session and receive your Pennine Care NHS Terms and Conditions.

The current model in Working Age is based on an inpatient/outpatient model. There are 3 Community Consultants (3 sectors), each covering outpatients only, and 2 Inpatient Consultants with a Full‑time consultant cover for the EIT, full time consultant covering HTT/Access team.
