This role has responsibility for managing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders collaboratively, in addition to supporting project development and delivery at a local, regional and national level. There are regular triage procedures to allocate a varied caseload which may range from supporting community-based projects through to contributing to regional and national partnerships. Key responsibilities are to: Develop, deliver, and coordinate projects to support HES’s Corporate and Investment Plans. Coordinate support and advice from across HES to respond to economic and investment planning, consultations and programmes. Develop and maintain relationships with national and local economic agencies and authorities to establish productive development networks and the engagement of business and communities in the delivery of HES Corporate Plan and Scottish Government policy outcomes. Advise internal and external stakeholders on partnership opportunities and risks and develop appropriate and proportionate agreements with project partners. Provide advice and support from across HES for capacity building work that enables communities and others to achieve their aims where heritage is a driver for positive change. Provide expert professional advice on Community Wealth Building to colleagues across service areas. Contribute to developing analytics for performance reporting on economic and community development as well as monitoring key issues. Undertake project and case management which involves negotiating complex external organisations and working with a range of internal stakeholders. Identify potential funding and other resourcing opportunities to support the delivery of agreed project or programme outcomes. Proactively handle sensitive development cases, seeking solutions, and drawing in other parties as appropriate. Essential: Experience of building and successfully maintaining a pipeline of projects within an economic development or built environment investment programme. Experience of working in an economic, spatial planning, or community planning role, including an understanding of the policies and practice in relation to regeneration and placemaking and their associated funding landscapes. Confidence and ability to develop and manage imaginative and innovative approaches to economic and community development. Experience of project management and appraisal, including planning, developing, due diligence, implementing, budgeting, monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on performance and dealing with competing priorities. Proven analytical skills and the ability to capture and analyse information in the most effective way and communicate it in a clear and accessible way. Experience of development and/or management of cross organisational engagement programmes, including attracting and communicating with a range of audiences to participate in events.
