Overview
Our client, a respected educational institution in Brislington, City of Bristol, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Part-time Pastoral Lead & DDSL to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the well-being and safeguarding of learners while working closely with the school's leadership team to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the pastoral care system, ensuring all learners receive appropriate support and guidance
* Collaborate with the staff team to address learner concerns
* Develop and implement strategies to promote positive behaviour, attendance, and engagement
* Serve as the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL)
* Work closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to maintain robust safeguarding policies and procedures
* Handle safeguarding concerns and liaise with external agencies when necessary
* Provide support and guidance to staff, students, and parents on safeguarding matters
Essential Qualifications and Experience
* Proven track record of working with young people in a pastoral capacity, ideally within an educational setting
* Thorough understanding of safeguarding best practices and relevant legislation
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents
* Discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive situations
