As an Electrical Design Engineer, you’ll play a key role in developing LV systems and electrical infrastructure for offsite modular builds. This is a secure, long-term opportunity offering up to £60,000 salary depending on experience, 33 days annual leave including bank holidays, private medical cover, enhanced pension contributions, and access to a generous company share scheme.
The successful Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for:
* Producing detailed electrical designs and schematics using AutoCAD and Inventor
* Performing cable sizing and LV system calculations using Amtech (ProDesign)
* Creating lighting, heating, and ventilation layouts and calculations using Dialux
* Working collaboratively with mechanical, structural, and manufacturing teams to deliver integrated, compliant designs
* Developing bills of materials (BOMs) and producing manufacturing documentation
* Supporting wider product development, including new systems and capital equipment specification where required
* Contributing to design reviews from tender stage through to contract completion
We’re looking for an Electrical Design Engineer with:
* A degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience. Working towards professional registration (e.g. MIET) would be a bonus.
* 3 to 5 years of experience in an electrical design role, ideally within modular construction, building services, or manufacturing environments.
* A solid grasp of the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671:2018).
* Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, Inventor, Amtech (ProDesign), and Dialux or similar tools.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work across disciplines and with external clients or consultants.
