ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking an Experienced Business Studies Teacher to join our established and successful Business Studies department. This role is perfect for a seasoned educator who has demonstrated excellence in secondary business education and is ready to take on greater responsibilities within a supportive school environment.
As an experienced professional, you will play a key role in mentoring newer staff, contributing to departmental leadership, and driving forward innovative teaching practices across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Classroom Excellence
1. Deliver outstanding Business Studies lessons across KS3, KS4, and KS5
2. Utilize your extensive experience to create engaging, differentiated learning experiences
3. Demonstrate advanced pedagogical skills in complex business concepts
4. Achieve consistently strong student outcomes and progress
Leadership & Mentorship
5. Support and mentor less experienced colleagues within the department
6. Lead curriculum development initiatives and scheme of work improvements
7. Share best practice and innovative teaching strategies
8. Contribute to departmental strategic planning and improvement
Student Development
9. Provide expert guidance for A-Level students and examination preparation
10. Support students with university applications and career pathways
11. Lead enrichment activities such as business competitions and enterprise projects
12. Offer specialized support for high-achieving and struggling students
Professional Contribution
13. Take on additional responsibilities commensurate with experience level
14. Contribute to whole-school improvement initiatives
15. Participate in performance management and professional development activities
16. Represent the department at school leadership meetings when required
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
Professional Qualifications & Experience UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - MANDATORY
Minimum 3+ years teaching experience in UK secondary schools
Proven track record of teaching Business Studies across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Degree in Business Studies, Business Management, Economics, or closely related field
Demonstrable experience with GCSE and A-Level Business Studies curricula
Professional Skills & Attributes Exceptional classroom management and teaching skills
Strong leadership qualities and mentoring capabilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to high standards and continuous improvement
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Experience with data analysis and student progress tracking
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Additional Experience
17. Leadership or management experience within education
18. Experience with multiple exam boards (AQA, Edexcel, OCR, WJEC)
19. Post-graduate qualifications in Education or Business
20. Experience delivering teacher training or professional development
21. Previous involvement in curriculum design or educational initiatives
Specialist Knowledge
22. Experience with vocational business qualifications (BTEC, etc.)
23. Knowledge of current business trends and real-world applications
24. Experience with educational technology and digital learning platforms
25. Additional teaching subjects (Economics, Mathematics, ICT)
26. Professional business or commercial sector experience
