A leading international real estate investment and asset management business is offering an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious Assistant Accountant to join its high-performing finance team, supporting both corporate accounting and asset-level finance operations.

As part of its continued growth and expansion, the company is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to play a key role within a dynamic and collaborative finance function. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the successful candidate will support the delivery of accurate, timely, and commercially focused financial information across the corporate business and operational property assets.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Supporting the Financial Controller and wider Finance team in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting across the corporate business and operational assets Managing Purchase and Sales Ledger functions, including supplier reconciliations, payment runs, and bank payments
* Assisting with month-end close processes through the preparation and posting of journals and validation of financial data within the accounting system
* Performing bank and balance sheet reconciliations, including accruals and prepayments, ensuring strong financial controls are maintained
* Managing intercompany reconciliations across multiple entities and multi-currency transactions
* Preparing and submitting VAT and CIS returns in accordance with statutory requirements
* Supporting the preparation of Profit & Loss accounts, Balance Sheets, variance analysis, and management reporting
* Assisting with annual audit processes, including the preparation of schedules, reconciliations, and responding to audit queries
* Building effective working relationships with Asset Management and Investment teams to provide financial support and commercial insight
* Producing ad hoc financial reports, reconciliations, and analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, proactive, and adaptable finance professional who thrives within a collaborative team environment, ideally with previous exposure to the property or real estate sector as an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant or AP and AR Assistant.
Core skills and experience required:
* Strong double-entry bookkeeping knowledge with a clear understanding of debits, credits, and core accounting principles
* CIMA or ACCA part-qualified, or AAT Level 3 qualified and above
* Previous experience posting financial transactions and supporting month-end and year-end accounting routines
* Journal preparation and posting (pre-payments and accruals)
* Ability to produce accurate work and meet demanding deadlines within a fast-paced environment
* Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build strong internal relationships
* A proactive and driven approach with a positive team-oriented mindset
