Could you be the person who brings compassion, resilience, and practical support to those facing homelessness in North East Lincolnshire? If you are passionate about making a real difference in people’s lives, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and are confident working with vulnerable individuals and families, this could be the perfect role for you.

What the role is about

As a Housing Case Officer, you will be at the heart of our Homelessness Prevention Service in North East Lincolnshire. You will provide tailored housing advice and support to people facing housing difficulties, helping them to stay in or move to safe, suitable, and affordable accommodation. You will manage a varied caseload, make statutory homelessness decisions, and work closely with partners across the housing, health, and support sectors to ensure the best outcomes for our residents.

Responsibilities

* Work directly with households to prevent or relieve homelessness, including refugees and care-experienced young people.
* Assess housing needs through face-to-face or home visits and create personalised housing plans.
* Negotiate with landlords, attend court, and assist with transitions from Home Office accommodation as needed.
* Collaborate with victims of domestic abuse, and participate in multi-agency meetings such as MARAC and MAPPA.
* Stay up to date with housing legislation and council policies; advocate for clients and connect them with budgeting, debt, and health support services.
* Balance office-based work with outreach and remote support to provide flexible, meaningful impact.

Qualifications & Requirements

* Experience in the homelessness field and comfort working directly with the public, including in challenging situations.
* Strong organizational, interviewing, and problem-solving skills.
* Solid understanding of housing legislation, domestic abuse, and restorative approaches; experience supporting victims of domestic abuse is essential.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multi-agency environment.

Why join us

This is more than a job—it’s a chance to make a meaningful impact every day. You will be part of a dedicated team working to prevent homelessness and support vulnerable people in the community. We value collaboration, compassion, and continuous learning, and will support your professional and personal growth. If you have the skills, empathy, and resilience to change lives, we’d love to welcome you to our team.
