We’re seeking a highly skilled SQL Database Administrator with expertise in Microsoft Azure to manage, optimize, and support client database environments. The ideal candidate will be proficient in database administration, performance tuning, security, and migrations while also providing consulting services and technical guidance to stakeholders. Our UK Delivery Centre is home to a wealth of talent, delivering best-in-class work across all areas of Microsoft Technologies for blue-chip clients across various industries. You'll be an SME for SQL Server and Azure SQL DB best practices, optimization, and migrations. * Proven experience as a SQL DBA with experience in Azure SQL environments.
* Strong knowledge of SQL Server (on-premises and cloud), including backup, recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery strategies.
* Proficiency in Azure services related to databases, such as Azure SQL Database, Managed Instances, and Virtual Machines.
* Experience with database migrations, upgrades, and performance tuning.
* Understanding of PowerShell, T-SQL scripting, and automation.
* Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
* Knowledge of cloud networking and security principles, as well as experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) is preferred but not essential.

Key Responsibilities:
* Database Administration: Manage, monitor, and optimize SQL Server databases, ensuring high availability and performance.
* Azure Database Management: Implement, configure, and maintain Azure SQL solutions, including Azure SQL Database and Managed Instances.
* Support & Troubleshooting: Provide technical support for database issues, troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, and apply best practices.
* Migrations & Upgrades: Plan and execute database migrations from on-premises to Azure or between Azure environments.
* Consulting & Advisory: Collaborate with client technical teams to provide strategic guidance on SQL and Azure database technologies.
* Security & Compliance: Ensure database security, implement access controls, and maintain compliance with standards.
* Automation & Optimization: Use automation tools and scripts to improve efficiency and reduce manual interventions.
