We are currently looking for an outpatient dressing clinic coordinator to work in the Main outpatient Department. Ideally we would like someone who has experience in direct face-to-face contact with patients/clients for appointment scheduling purposes.
Reporting to the nurse in charge of the clinics that day and working closely with other members of the admin team to ensure the delivery of the service within NHS targets. The role will include receiving confidential and sensitive information, written, oral or verbal, to be exchanged with patients, relatives, staff or external parties.
Responsibilities
* Booking and amending appointments for patients as required
* Managing capacity within the clinics and moving patient appointments if required
* Ensuring all correspondence relating to patients is saved onto the Electronic Document Management systems (Evolve)
* Provide and receive confidential and sensitive information written, aural or verbal, to be exchanged with patients/clients, relatives, staff or external parties
* Ensure telephone enquiries are dealt with in a confidential, professional, tactful, sympathetic and timely manner
* Communicating effectively with the nursing and medical teams to allow the ongoing clinic to work efficiently
Qualifications
* Experience in direct face-to-face contact with patients/clients for appointment scheduling
* Medical experience in a hospital or clinical environment
* Computer literate and able to manage a range of systems including clinic room allocation
* Ability to prioritise own workload, possess excellent communication skills, professional telephone manner
* Flexible, pro‑active, positive attitude and remain calm under pressure
